Industry-leading technology will be used at the 75-acre site outside of Sacramento.

***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***

ROCK TAVERN, N.Y. – Subsurface Technologies, Inc. (STI) announced that it has signed a new multi-year contract, managing 100 pump-and-treat groundwater remediation wells used to extract contaminated groundwater at a NSF remediation site in Northern California.

These groundwater wells pump contaminated groundwater from the aquifer to a centralized treatment system. There, sustainable chemical removal techniques, including biological reactors for the destruction of chemicals, are used to treat the water.

STI is contributing to the chemical removal process by employing its proprietary Aqua Gard® preventive well maintenance technology, which proactively prevents the wells from plugging, ensuring maximum extraction rates of contaminated water are being pumped and sent to treatment. This is done using carbon dioxide instead of harmful chemicals, resulting in an environmentally-sound process that captures and stores close to 90% of the carbon dioxide used in the process.

“Subsurface Technologies is committed to protecting the environment, which is why we develop and use advanced, environmentally-sound technologies for all potable groundwater systems to assure they operate at peak production and efficiency,” said Chris Catania, President and Chief Executive Officer of STI. “As a leader in the water industry, we look forward to contributing to this important process of ensuring surrounding communities have access to clean and quality drinking water.”
